Kilimanjaro

Rising above the plains of northern Tanzania, Mount Kilimanjaro is Africa’s highest peak at 5,895 meters and a symbol of adventure and natural beauty. Formed by ancient volcanic activity, it consists of three cones—Kibo, Mawenzi, and Shira—and has long held cultural importance for local communities like the Chagga people. First successfully climbed in 1889 by Hans Meyer and Ludwig Purtscheller, the mountain is now part of Kilimanjaro National Park and attracts thousands of visitors each year seeking to experience the “Roof of Africa.”
